Yasmine Robinson
Born in 1994 in Co. Derry, Northern Ireland. Lives and works in Belfast.
Yasmine Robinson's paintings explore the materiality of paint as a site of reflection, memory and perception. Her practice is driven by an ongoing interest in the physical and emotional possibilities of paint, alongside an intuitive approach to mark-making and form.
She received an MA from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, in 2018, where she was awarded the Frank Bowling Scholarship and the Outset Studio-Makers Award, having previously completed a BA in Fine Art at Belfast School of Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Messums West (Tisbury), Centre for Contemporary Art (Derry~Londonderry), Frieze (London), Sim Smith (London), Ingram Collection (London), The MAC (Belfast), F.E. McWilliam Gallery (Banbridge), and Im Labor (Tokyo). Her work is held in public and private collections.
Robinson is a Lecturer in Fine Art Foundation Studies at Ulster University, Belfast.
