Yasmine Robinson

Born in 1994 in Co. Derry, Northern Ireland. Lives and works in Belfast.

Yasmine Robinson is an abstract painter based in Belfast. Her paintings unfold through a process of continual revision, where colour becomes a force of discovery and forms slip between appearance and disappearance. Rooted in observation yet resisting fixed meaning, her work transforms fragments of the familiar into strange and shifting presences. Through vivid colour, playful forms and layered surfaces, her paintings occupy a space between recognition and uncertainty, inviting the viewer to look longer and discover what remains hidden.

She received an MA from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, in 2018, where she was awarded the Frank Bowling Scholarship and the Outset Studio-Makers Award, having previously completed a BA in Fine Art at Belfast School of Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Messums West (Tisbury), Centre for Contemporary Art (Derry~Londonderry), Frieze (London), Sim Smith (London), Ingram Collection (London), The MAC (Belfast), F.E. McWilliam Gallery (Banbridge), and Im Labor (Tokyo). Her work is held in public and private collections.

Robinson is a Lecturer in Fine Art Foundation Studies at Ulster University, Belfast and member of QSS Studios and Gallery
